Day 1 | Abstract

Composite restorations are a reality of day to day dentistry today.

They over the last two decades have revolutionized restorative and aesthetic dentistry. It has been always a challenge to make them look and function like natural teeth.

The materials not being like tooth tissues or the inability of the practitioner to master complex clinical techniques has resulted in restorations especially in the aesthetic zone that still look like they do not belong to the individual’s dentition.

In this master course recipes and techniques combined with some new materials are being explained for the average practitioner to be able to do life like restorations with ease making them emulate nature. A deep immersion into the process of bonding is also done to understand steps that can be taken to minimize or eliminate postoperative sensitivity.

Course Objectives

The participants will have an in depth knowledge and understanding of the following topics -

  • To understand indications and contraindications of composite resins
  • Master bonding techniques to minimize post-restoration pain and sensitivity, ensuring patient comfort and restoration longevity.
  • Apply a simplified controlled body technique specifically designed for complex anterior restorations to achieve aesthetic and functional success.
  • Anterior Composite Veneers : Recipes for predictable success
  • Implement advanced protocols for polishing and finishing composite restorations to achieve superior aesthetic and tactile results.
  • Understand and apply key strategies for the maintenance of composite restorations, extending their longevity and preserving aesthetic qualities over time.

Day 2 | Abstract

This comprehensive session delves into the advanced techniques of posterior direct bonded composites, emphasizing cavity preparation, managing complex smear layers, and effective bonding protocols. Participants will explore various restoration techniques, including bulk fill and layering, to optimize tooth anatomy and contact points. The program includes a detailed lecture followed by a hands-on workshop where attendees will apply the stamp technique for bulk fill restorations and practice step-by-step layering for aesthetic posterior restorations, using selected bands and band holders. This practical approach ensures mastery of material application and restoration techniques for enhanced patient outcomes.

Course Objectives

  • Develop skills in the use of bulk fill techniques with the stamp method and meticulous layering for aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound restorations.
  • Master the latest bonding protocols to ensure durable, sensitive-free restorations, focusing on materials that provide the best outcomes for posterior teeth.
  • Acquire knowledge on choosing the right bands and band holders that facilitate precise and effective composite placement in posterior restorations.
  • Apply techniques to create esthetically superior and anatomically correct posterior restorations, enhancing both skill level and clinical outcomes.
