Tooth preparation today versus 20 years ago – Science and technique
Date: 25 November 2023 | Time: 09:00-10:00 (GST) | Location: Online Event
Abstract
Tooth preparation for indirect ceramic restorations involves balancing functional and aesthetic needs on one hand while averting potential risks on the other. We will first discuss general tooth preparation guidelines, followed by in-depth, area-specific, and material-specific requirements. The presentation will provide an overview of instrumentation and techniques for both anterior and posterior partial and full-coverage ceramic restorations. Special attention will be given to the conservation of tooth structure, emphasizing the distinctions between classical preparation designs and more modern techniques
Learning Objectives
- Match the ideal preparation design to the restorative material being used.
- Select the ideal preparation for function.
- Select the ideal preparation for esthetics.
- Select the correct instruments for more efficient and precise preparations.
