Title: The Art & Science of Aesthetic Dentistry Part 1 & Anterior Diagnostic Waxing

In today’s health and image-conscious society, cosmetic or aesthetic dentistry is becoming much more of a ‘must have’. This 3-part course on aesthetic dentistry will allow you to explore the principles of smile design, such as centre-line, symmetry, smile line, incisal plane, gingival aesthetics, proportion and axial alignment.

The morning session will consist of a smile design lecture which will include:

  • Natural v media smile 
  • Centre line 
  • Smile line 
  • Anterior occlusal plane 
  • Golden proportion and percentage 
  • Tooth shape & form 
  • Phonetics 

The afternoon session will include a hands on Diagnostic waxing practical and will be completed on the anterior teeth.

Title: The Art & Science of Aesthetic Dentistry Part 2 & Posterior Diagnostic Waxing
Faculty: Prof. Paul Tipton & Mr. Bill Sharpling

Course Outline

The morning session will consist of a smile design lecture which will cover:

  • Contact areas & positions 
  • Lip shape & central incisor dominance 
  • Buccal corridor
  • Ortho V tooth preparation
  • Full mouth reconstruction 

The afternoon session will consist of a hands on diagnostic waxing practical and will be completed on the posterior teeth.

Day 3 & 4

Title: Implant Prosthodontics Part 1 & 2
Faculty: Prof. Göran Urde
Time: 08:30 - 18:00

With more patients than ever opting for dental implants over traditional approaches, mastering dental implants represents a significant growth opportunity to practices across the UK. Completion of this course will allow for you to learn to safely place & restore dental implants, identify implant opportunities and plan treatments effectively and increase your implant knowledge observing other cases.

Surgical principles. Treatment planning single, partial and fully edentulous patients. Different loading concepts i.e. immediate-delayed loading. Implant prosthetics. Follow-up and maintenance of implants
