Scannable A-silicone AFFINIS DCode combines analog with digital impression
Next to the classical impression taking technique, digital scans are becoming increasingly popular due to the rapid advances in the field of CAD/CAM. Dentists who also wish to offer their patients digitally fabricated prostheses, are now offered an economical alternative besides purchasing an intraoral scanner. Scannable A-silicones enable the fabrication of highly precise impressions which can be recorded and digitalised quickly and efficiently in a desktop scanner. This lets practice teams quite simply combine the advantages of analog and digital processes.
Precise recording of details
With the scannable AFFINIS DCode, Swiss dental specialist COLTENE extends its range within its AFFINIS premium brand as of immediate. Due to its exceptional flow properties, the novel, self-contouring high precision material records even the finest details and undercuts reliably and accurately. These decisive details are often difficult to record with conventional intraoral scanners. The thermo-active formulation allows relaxed application and bonds rapidly in situ - the ideal snapset between generous processing time and short dwell time in the patient's mouth. Subsequent digitalisation in the scanner without the additional application of powder saves a work step and minimises sources of errors in the process chain. Familiar practice workflows for impression taking remain unchanged. The generated digital data can be sent conveniently to the laboratory per mouse click and archived in the practice. Like all A-silicones from COLTENE, the AFFINIS DCode records all details with high precision, even in a moist environment. Even autoclaving is possible without any effects of the dimensional stability of the impression.
Easy entry into the CAD/CAM age
At the 12CAD/CAM & Digiital Dentistry Exhibition, dentists are welcome to convince themselves personally of the reliability and intuitive handling of the latest generation of A-silicones at the COLTENE stand. AFFINIS DCode is available from March in four consistencies: in addition to the two tray materials "putty soft“ and "heavy body“, the two "regular body“ and "light body" correction materials are available from the dental retail trade. The scannable AFFINIS line offers clinicians a simple and economical entry to the fabrication of modern CAD/CAM solutions. Thus, COLTENE continuously expands its comprehensive portfolio of specifically developed dental materials and clever working tools for precisely fitting dental restorations.
